In the 7th minute Maurice McGeady was robbed by player manager Terry McColgan and he slotted home from the edge of the area from an acute angle to give the visitors the lead. Moville levelled On 16 minutes Joe Doherty squared to Ritchie McElhinney and he fired low past Damien Doherty from fifteen yards. Minutes later Doherty cleared a corner away under pressure. At the other end McGeady punched a corner clear to Tony McGeady who fed Joe Doherty on the right and he fed McElhinney who slammed the ball low past Doherty from ten yards. On the half hour Nigel McMonagle had an effort cleared off the line. The point replied with Joe Johnston breaking on the left but saw his effort scrambled clear by McGeady. Moville replied on 37 minutes when McMonagle fed Shane Canning who fires just over from thirty yards. In the second period McMonagle crossed for Conor Mclaughlin whose first effort rebounded off the post and he failed to connect with the rebound. On 53 minutes McMonagle cut in from the left and saw his well hit effort deflect past the keeper for a three one lead. McElhinney then harried a defender into an error but shot weakly at Doherty when well placed. On 71 minutes substitute Oran McDermott played a neat one two with McMonagle before firing low to the corner from the edge of the area. The point tried to reply with McColgan chipping the advancing McGeady but the ball hit the side netting. On 75 minutes McDermott fired a superb left footed effort in off the underside of the bar to complete the scoring. McMonagle then beat two defenders but Doherty pulled off a superb save. The final chance fell to McColgan at the other end but he headed into the side netting before McColgan saw another flying header well saved at full stretch saved

Carrowmena FC 2     QPS 2

The visitors started the game well pinning the home side back for long periods but failed to convert a couple of good chances that came their way. Carrowmena responded midway through the half when Paul Duffy found Matthew Henry who fired just past the post. The point took the lead on 34 minutes when Kevin Wallace and Colm McLaughlin combined to release Aiden Lynch and he fired low past Michael Noone from fifteen yards. They increased their lead minutes later after Terry McColgan flicked on a free for Lynch to stab home his second. Carrowmena reduced the deficit in the opening minute when Duffy and James Henry combined well to set up Matthew Henry and he drilled the ball low past David McGeady from twelve yards. They got back on terms on 72 minutes when Conoe Radcliffe crossed to Brian Kone who laid the ball off to Jonathan McLaughlin who fired low to the net from the edge of the area. Things boiled over then with Michael Farren and Aiden Lynch both getting red carded to reduce the visitors to nine men. They almost paid the price in the closing stages when McLaughlin played a ball over the top for Patrick McClenaghan whose looping header was brilliantly tipped round the post by McGeady.

This was an excellent performance from the home side who took the lead on 11 minutes when Anthony Toland fed Terence Doherty and he fired high to the roof of the net past David McGeady. On 18 minutes Doherty crossed for Alan Orr to glance a header from eight yards to the bottom corner. The visitors replied on 39 minutes when Shane Doherty made a tremendous last ditch tackle to deny Terry McColgan before McColgan saw a tremendous effort crash off the bar. Glengad then created a few good chances with Toland, Doherty Jason Doherty and Patrick McDermott all going close. They made it three nil on 58 minutes when McDermott scrambled the ball home from close range. The point got one back on 75 minutes when Paul Hegarty released Stephen McCarron who lifted the ball over the advancing Michael McLaughlin. The home side completed the scoring when Charlie Byrne played a good pass to Terence Doherty who fired low to the corner from the edge of the box.
