Weekly Fixtures
Premier Devision - Carn FC -v- QPS
The result will raise a few eyebrows as the home side completed five victories in a row and inflicted a first defeat of the season on the leauge leaders. The viitors began well but failed to create anything and on the 12th minute the home side opened the scoring when a corner fell to Robert McCartney and he fired a shot into the top corner. Five minutes later they made it two when Charles Fayed's corner was flicked home at the near post by Kevin Hirrell. The home side sealed the points on the half hour after Fayed beat the offside trapto run into Cathal Doherty's pass before scoring. On 55 minutes the viitors had a change but Terry McColgans shot was saved by Ritchie Cunningham. Final result 3 - 0
Reserve League Shield -QPS -v CockhillThe visitors got off to a great start on 3 minutes when Jason Lyons released Kevin O'Donnell and he fired low past Brian Havlin. The Point Leveled on 10 minutes when good work by Brian McIvor on the left saw him cut in and when his shot was parried by Aaron O'donnell the loose ball fell to Ian cullen and he slotted home. The goal mouth action was then limited to the hour when Paddy Porter broke through the home defense and when his initial effort was saved by Havlin he fired the rebound ide. At the other end McIvor delivered a dangerous cross which was scrambled clear before the home side had two let offs when O'Donnell's well struck twenty five yards effort crashed off the post before Shaun McLaughlin's header came off the bar. The home side responded with Trevor Gallagher running from halfway but seeing his effort turned away by O'donnell. From Damien McCallion's corner John Atcheson rose highest to head home. Deep into injury time Cockhill salvaged a point when Gerry Farrell advanced from midfield and hammered a superb shot to the top corner from thirty yards. Final Result - 2-2
